~ EL ORAL Preparation ~

A simple guideline that you can choose to follow if you are clueless in how to go about scoring for your Oral.

Step 1: This picture depicts ......

Step 2: Instead of jumping abruptly into describing each activity......Elaborate on the surrounding/environment first.

e.g. There is a wide variety of toys in the departmental store. Probably it is a weekend as there are lots of children in the store. I think a sale is going on with all the discount labels hanging around the entire level. The shoppers should be having a great time taking advantage of the savings.

Step 3: There is a boy ...... (Describe what is happening)

Step 4: I think the boy is .... (Describe how the person feels)

Step 5: We should be responsible... (Give your opinion)

Repeat Steps 3 - 5 for every situation.

Final: In conclusion....

STOP USING:

1)  I think I think I think for the entire picture.
Instead use a variety of words e.g.  I suppose, Probably, I assume, Maybe, I guess, etc.
