~ Tallest Buildings in The World ~

How Math + Science (Technology) are applied in the real world.

An example is the way buildings are being built now.

Before the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building in the world was Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, standing at 452m in 1998.

The advancement in technology over the years allowed engineers to build even taller buildings like the Taipei 101 Tower in 2004, standing at 508m, and finally the Burj Khalifa in 2010, standing at 808m tall.   Almost 1km up into the sky !!

Engineers design buildings to withstand forces.

Forces come from many sources such as gravity, the people inside, weight of the building materials, the weather, environmental impacts like the wind, etc.

~M. C Escher ~

Math?  Art?   MATH + ART ?

Tessellation ....tiling....at its best.

Analyse the art below.

Can you actually understand why is this piece of work so amazing?

So complex?

Tessellating the same exact design as it shrinks.....

These are pieces created by M.C Escher, a reknown Dutch artist.

~ MATH: How to Do? ~

Have your brain gone rusty yet?

Try these.....

1)  Aaron had $1269 more than Benny. The amount Aaron had was 3 times that of Cuishan. If the three of them had a total of $10 365, how much money did Aaron and Benny have altogether?

2)  Judy,Nancy n Paul have some money each. If Judy gives $37 to Paul, they will have the same amount of money. If Nancy gives $16 to Paul, she will have the same amount of money as Paul.
How much more money than Nancy does Judy have? (no transfer is really taking place)

Can you solve them, CHAMPIONS?  ('',)

~ Steve Jobs ~

Every night before you go to bed, my dear Champions, do ask yourself,

"Have I done something wonderful today?"

Have you done anything today to make the world a more wonderful place?

Have you done something today to brighten up someone's day?

Be someone with a "beautiful" heart,
Be a wonderful son/daughter,
Be a useful citizen.

Steve Jobs was an American businessman, designer, inventor and innovator.
He is the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc , the maker of iMac, iPhone, iPods, iPads, etc.
