Circulatory System (Grp 1)

Blood vessels are tubes through which blood flows.Blood vessels which carry blood away from the heart are called arteries.Arteries have strong, elastic walls that can withstand the high pressure of fast-flowing blood. Most arteries carry blood rich in oxygen.

There are three types of blood vessels:Arteries, capillaries and veins..

The human heart is a hollow muscular organ which is about the size of a fist.It pumps blood by contracting and relaxing its muscles.

when the heart muscles contracts, blood is squeeze out of the heart into the blood vessels. When the heart muscles relax, blood flows back into the heart through the blood vessels.

Blood that flows to the heart from the lungs are rich in oxygen and blood that flows from the heart to the rest of the body but blood from the heart to the lungs is poor in oxygen and blood from the rest of the body to the heart is also poor in oxygen.

That's all about our Circulatory system.
