Home Group 9

1) Lung Cancer, SARS

2) The nose has nose hairs to trap dust and dirt so that the air we breathe in is purified. By breathing in through our mouth, the dust and dirt has nothing to trap it so the dust and dirt can enter the lungs.

3) Gas leak, patients with insufficient oxygen

4) No, there is no oxygen so the plants cannot grow and the seeds cannot breathe to germinate.

5) Lungs have a large surface area so that gas exchange can take place better.

6) For plants, water, nutrients and oxygen are transported by the xylem and phloem. But for human, water nutrients and oxygen are transported by the blood vessels, the veins, the arteries and the capillaries.
